Le GO pour bouger!

Available in English and French

The Montreal Public Health Unit, in collaboration with its partners Move 50+ (Sercovie) and the Department of Geriatrics (CHUM), launched “Le GO pour bouger!” on May 12, 2020. “Le GO pour bouger!” includes five exercise programs easy to do at home. Anyone can follow the exercises using the video or printed formats. Exercises are adapted to different levels of physical fitness, so active people and people that need help moving around or getting up can choose the right program. There is a unit for every level!

The complete program materials are available. The promotional kit is in production.

This information is targeted to health professionals, community or organizations/associations practitioners and the goal is to promote the program amongst seniors. The program was created for seniors living in the community and staying at home, by choice or because of their civic obligations, and discouraged from exercising outside. Moving our body can help us get back in shape, maintain physical shape already gained and, consequently, reduce our risks of falling associated with deconditioning or other health problems.

The “Le GO pour bouger!” program is available online. It is easy to broadcast through community television channels or to include in recreational activities in a home, for instance on a balcony. It is also a good way to reach seniors that have no Internet access.
